Dee's Alaska Adventure

Took off riding on my bicycle planning on riding 50 miles this morning, but at mile 27 I took a bad fall on my bike. I was going down a steep downhill and it started raining pretty hard and I couldn't see very well. The paving changed to dirt and I hit a slippery muddy spot and down I went. Landed hard on my right elbow and shoulder. Nothing broken or strained to bad, but it aches pretty good. Bent my derailer on my bike that shifts the gears on the back, and it wouldn't work so I had to do some good old fashioned farmers mechanical work, you know, fix it with a hammer. I had one in my saddle bags for just such occasions. Got it to work good enough until Patty picked me up. Doing fine tuning on it now that we are in camp and I have a few more tools. We are camped next to Deese Lake tonight. Very beautiful. Got camp set up and Patty headed into town a few miles away to buy some marshmallows. Grandma has been fussing about that every night so tonight we are going to roast some over our nice fire. I have been enjoying the time I have had to read, study, and write. Very profitable.
